Mausi and Eddy, owners of Selva Negra, are the children of coffee farmers. They bought La Hammonia coffee farm together in 1974, later to become Selva Negra Estate. Since then they have built a self-sustaining eco-village at Selva Negra where they make their own organic fertilizer, have a medical clinic, and provide schooling for the children of their workers.
This lot was shipped directly from Selva Negra to Vera Cruz, Mexico where the Mountain Water decaffeination process is conducted, allowing for a fully traceable, single estate, and organic decaf lot - a rare thing in Decaf. This coffee presents beautifully both black and with milk with a clean flavour profile, highlighted by gentle fruits and sweet milk chocolate notes.
