Matcha is a vibrant, green tea powder made from finely ground dried tea leaves. It has been the foundation of traditional Japanese tea ceremonies for decades, but has become increasingly popular across the world for its delicious taste and long list of health benefits!
Well firstly, Matcha is an antioxidant power house! As this vibrant green powder is essentially ground green tea leaves, you're actually consuming the entire tea leaf - as opposed to steeping the leaves and discarding it in an ordinary green tea.
On top of that, the caffeine in Matcha is released slowly in the body (and if you really want to get into the science behind it - it's thanks to an amino acid, L'theanine, naturally found in the leaves), meaning you're still getting that caffeine hit and less likely to get jitteryand crash!
