About Anserma Decaf, Colombia
Our Anserma Decaf is crafted using the natural sugarcane decaf process, a method that preserves the coffee’s vibrant flavour while gently removing the caffeine. Also known as the ethyl acetate process, it uses a compound naturally derived from fermented sugarcane to decaffeinate the coffee without compromising its quality.
Where It's Grown
This beautiful decaf coffee comes from Anserma, located in the southwest of Colombia’s Caldas Department. Thanks to a tropical climate and abundant rainfall, the region offers ideal conditions for specialty coffee production. Anserma Decaf is sourced from the Anserma Cooperative, which represents more than 2,000 smallholder growers dedicated to producing exceptional coffee.
What The Coffee Tastes Like
Expect a smooth, sweet cup with a milk chocolate finish. We've take the roast time slightly longer, and temperature slightly higher for a balanced, rounded profile with a silky body and a naturally sweet finish. It’s everything you love about specialty coffee - just without the caffeine.
What is the Sugarcane Decaf Process?
Our sugarcane decaf coffee is made using an environmentally friendly method designed to retain the original characteristics of the beans.
Here's how it works:
The process begins with a light steaming to open up the beans, followed by a soak in the sugarcane-derived solution that selectively bonds with caffeine. After rinsing and drying, the beans are ready - full of flavour, free of bitterness, and naturally caffeine-free.
This gentle, sustainable process makes Anserma Decaf the perfect choice for anyone who loves great coffee but prefers to skip the buzz.
