INDUSTRY BEANS YORK STREET

Last week we opened the doors to Industry Beans York St.

We were overwhelmed by the welcome we received from our new locals! From our neighbours on York St. to the wider coffee community, we’ve enjoyed meeting Sydney’s coffee and brunch lovers.

The idea for York St. started over a year ago when we had the opportunity to look at a beautiful heritage site as part of the York & George development at 38 - 40 York St. We fell in love with the sandstone exteriors and pressed metal ceiling, designing our bar, seating and retail to complement and interact with the heritage beauty around it.

Walking through the door of Industry Beans York St., you’ll be greeted at the end of the coffee bar where a light concrete bench and bright pastry display creates a customer service area.

Moving along the bar, you’ll see the same Modbar set up we have at our Lt. Collins store in Melbourne CBD – but in reverse! Four Modbar fonts, two steam units and grinders make up a consistent, fast and beautiful coffee line that can handle a rush hour with efficiency and grace.

On espresso we’re serving Fitzroy Street as our house blend, with our Seasonal Espresso as an option too, alongside a feature single origin (this week, Aserri & Acosta, Costa Rica). Single origin batch brew, cold brew on tap and our signature drinks: Bubble Cup and Fitzroy Iced round out our filter options, with something available for every taste.

In our seating area, we have a collection of single and communal seats for all day brunch-goers, designed with simplicity to provide a blank canvas for the coffee and brunch to shine.

On the other side of the room, we have an integrated retail area, where every coffee that we serve can be purchased to enjoy at home. Alongside coffee, we have a full range of chocolate, chai and reusable cups and water bottles, so that you can always find what you need.

Our full menu is available to dine in or take away, alongside a selection fresh ready-made baguettes, salads, oat cups and juices to grab & go when you’re on the run.

Creating, building and launching Industry Beans York St. has been an amazing journey and we couldn’t be happier to be open 7 days a week. We hope to see you there!
