This is our first year sourcing coffee from Long Miles, though we’ve been sourcing Burundian coffee for many years. Rather than a single hyper-specific microlot, this coffee brings together exceptional coffee from across multiple communities. Cherries are selected based on origin hill and drying quality, then rigorously graded, resulting in a coffee that captures both consistency and character.

Where It's From

Long Miles Coffee works with around 5,700 farming families across Burundi, sourcing cherries from numerous hills and, in some cases, multiple washing stations per lot. This approach allows each coffee to reflect the broader landscape and farming community, while maintaining a strong focus on quality at every stage of processing.

Tastes Like

Lush stone fruit with dried apricot and honey sweetness, a juicy, rounded body, and a lingering floral finish.

Roasting Note: We're applying gentle heat up front with plenty of development through the later half the of the roast, to best enhance the fruit sweetness.

Brewing Note: Try starting with a 1:2.5 ratio, to pull more sweetness out of the coffee and make the fruit notes shine.

Shipping & Delivery

Our coffee is roasted fresh to order! We aim to get your coffee to you as quickly as possible. We will make every effort to process and ship your order on the same day when orders are received by 7am (business days).

Free shipping over $60 is facilitated by Australia Post and will generally reach an address within Australian capital cities within the following times:

Melbourne Metro area: 1-2 working days
Regional Victoria: 2-3 working days
Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane: 2-4 working days.
Canberra & Hobart: 1-5 working days.
Darwin, Perth and Interstate Regional areas: 3 - 10 days.

All orders are sent with a tracking number. If your order has not been received within 10 working days please check your tracking number online or reach out to us on Live Chat.

Express Option: If you need your coffee quickly, we offer an Express Post Upgrade option charge which is subsidised by us. Once processed, Express Postage is set up to be a next business day delivery service to Australian Metro Cities - depending on how busy the AusPost network is, there may be an extra day or two, but it's still your fastest option.

Australia Post have authority to leave your delivery at your address if you are not at home. This ensures you receive your coffee as quickly and as hassle-free as possible. If the delivery driver does not identify a safe place to leave your coffee then it will be available for collection from your local Australia Post outlet, as per the delivery card left by the driver.

Click and Collect: We offer a Click & Collect option from our cafes. Each of our cafes is unique and has a different offering, so you may not find Click & Collect is available for all products.

Orders are fulfilled with cafe stock which can be up to 10 days from roast date. If you would like coffee roasted to order, please select the shipping option at checkout.
Our cafes stock whole beans and grind coffee to order for optimal freshness. For this reason, the zip-lock seal will be opened to grind your coffee fresh. If you prefer the zip-lock to be unopened, please select the shipping option at checkout.
We cannot swap or cancel an order with ground coffee.
You will be notified via email when your order is ready for collection, please bring your order confirmation with you when collecting your order.
Once your order is ready for collection, you can pick it up during our cafe hours.

What is single origin coffee?

The term 'single origin' refers to coffee that is from a specific farm or geographic region. Single origins allow drinkers to experience and enjoy distinct flavours and characteristics of those regions.

What's the difference between espresso and filter roasts?

We roast our filter coffees more lightly, for extraction through slower brew methods like pourover, aeropress, and cold brew. We roast our espresso roasts for a longer time, allowing the beans to develop bolder, richer flavour that come through as as a stronger brew.

How should I brew this coffee?

We recommend our espresso single origins for anyone looking to experience an exciting variety of flavours through espresso or stovetop extraction. If you're looking for a stronger French Press brew, this could be for you, too.

How should I store this coffee?

All of our coffee is roasted to order, meaning it will be as fresh as possible when you receive it. If your pack has a zip lock, you can store it as-is in a cupboard (away from light) though if purchased a 1kg pack, we recommend transferring to a sealed container.

How much should I order?

That's completely up to you! As a good starting point, 500g of coffee a month can make about 1-2 cups of coffee a day. And as you get to know your usage and purchase higher quantities, you'll enjoy better pricing.
