About This Coffee

We are very excited to welcome back coffee from Fazenda Santa Clara, a farm we have sourced from in previous years. The Mantiqueira de Minas region is synonymous with quality, thanks to its high elevation, fertile soil, and favourable seasonality.

Where It's From

The Pereira family’s ancestors planted the first coffee trees on Fazenda Santa Clara in 1900. Since then, the family has been dedicated to coffee production. Today, third-generation owners Moacyr Dias Pereira & Alayde Graciano Pereira operate the farm with help from their four adult children: Fernando, Carlos Henrique, Eduardo and Luciana. Their children are married and live with their families on the land.

This coffee is exported through COCARIVE. All COCARIVE member farms hold Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) certification and are certified by the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA). This certification ensures that all labour practices on the farm are legal and that environmentally responsible practices are implemented throughout every stage of coffee production.

Tastes Like

A rich and syrupy espresso, with velvety chocolate notes and a stone fruit sweetness.

Roasting Note: Gentle heat application early on, with extended development through the latter half of the roast, enhances the fruit sweetness in the coffee.

Brewing Note: A 1:2 ratio helps emphasise the rich, indulgent body. Given the delicate acidity, this results in a balanced cup.

Whats the difference between filter roast and espresso roast?

We roast our filter coffees more lightly, for extraction through slower brew methods like pourover, aeropress, and cold brew. We roast our espresso roasts for a longer time, allowing the beans to develop bolder, richer flavour that come through as as a stronger brew.

What brew methods can I use this coffee with?

Our filter single origins can be brewed through various methods, including Pourover, Batch Brew, Aeropress, French Press and Cold Brewers.

How much coffee should I order?

That's completely up to you! As a good starting point, 500g of coffee a month can make about 1-2 cups of coffee a day. And as you get to know your usage and purchase higher quantities, you'll enjoy better pricing.
