Betania Farm is part of a thriving network of 117 smallholder producers in southern Huila, a region internationally recognised for its exceptional terroir and dedication to quality. These producers work together under a shared philosophy: farming with respect for the land, preserving traditional methods, and avoiding the use of chemicals that compromise soil health and biodiversity. Their collective efforts have created a model of sustainable coffee production admired across Colombia.
The group has invested in shared infrastructure, including a cupping laboratory, professional drying stations, and centralised warehouses. This allows each producer to elevate coffee quality while maintaining full traceability at every stage.
With over 80 years of family history, Betania Farm has been passed down through generations. Following the 2014 coffee crisis, the family shifted focus to specialty coffee, introducing varieties such as Pink Bourbon, Chiroso, Geisha, and SL28, while refining fermentation techniques. This progression has positioned Linarco at the forefront of Colombia’s specialty coffee movement. His commitment extends beyond the farm - mentoring young growers, promoting environmentally responsible practices, and supporting initiatives that strengthen the local community.
