We’ve been working closely with Wahana Estate for many years now.
If you’re familiar with our signature Fitzroy Street blend, which features a 40% component from Wahana Estate, you’ll already have some idea of the high quality of coffee they produce. The coffee they’re producing stands out not only for its finished attributes, but for the estate’s encompassing social responsibility practises too.
We’ve always enjoyed working with microlots from Wahana, finding an impressive culture of innovation and quality behind everything they do. Our newest coffee from the estate – Rasuna Natural – has completely blown us away.
Rasuna is a rare varietal, a hybrid of Catimor and Typica created to bring together the best qualities of both – Catimor’s high yield and Typica’s production lifetime. It’s even more intriguing as a natural processed coffee, which generally quite unusual in Indonesia.
The end result is a completely unique flavour profile, unlike anything else you’ll have had from Sumatra. It’s full of sweet fruits, incredibly vibrant and exceptionally clean. It’s a sophisticated natural processed coffee, and the tasting notes we’ve settled on are pineapple, feijoa and sweet ginger.
This coffee will challenge and redefine your experience of Indonesian coffees. We invite you to try it on the filter menu in our Fitzroy cafe or purchase a pack online, enjoying free shipping Australia-wide.
