About This Grinder

The Fellow Opus Grinder is a premium all-purpose grinder for any coffee brew method. Its 48 mm stainless steel conical burrs grind evenly from fine espresso through to coarse immersion, and a smooth, stepless dial lets you make the small adjustments that bring a coffee into focus.

Why You'll Love It

The 48 mm stainless steel conical burrs grind quickly and evenly with minimal heat, keeping clarity and sweetness intact from espresso through to cold brew. A stepless side dial with clear markings gives you infinite control, so you can make precise espresso adjustments and then move quickly to coarser filter settings. An internal impeller clears the chamber for near-zero retention, so the dose you weigh is the dose you brew. A built-in ioniser keeps grounds from clinging and your bench clean.

FAQs

Can the Opus 2 grind for espresso as well as filter?

Yes - it’s a true all-rounder. The 48mm conical burrs grind evenly all the way from fine espresso through to coarse immersion, and a stepless side dial lets you make the tiny adjustments espresso needs, then move quickly out to filter, batch brew, AeroPress, French press or cold brew. It even comes with an espresso dosing cup that fits both 54mm and 58mm portafilters, so one grinder genuinely covers your whole brewing setup.

Does the Opus 2 pair well with the Fellow Espresso Series 1?

It’s a natural match. The Opus 2 grinds fine and consistently enough for espresso and the included dosing cup fits the Espresso Series 1 portafilter, so the two work beautifully together as a set.

What makes the Opus 2 worth it over a cheaper grinder?

A quality burr grinder like this grinds evenly with minimal heat, which keeps the clarity and sweetness in your coffee - something blade grinders simply can’t do. On top of that, an internal impeller clears the chamber for near-zero retention (so the dose you weigh is the dose you brew), and a built-in ioniser stops grounds clinging and keeps your bench clean. These are the details that make daily brewing more consistent and a lot less fiddly.

How do I find the right grind setting?

The stepless dial has clear markings, so you can dial in and remember your favourite settings for each brew method. As a rule of thumb, finer for espresso and coarser for filter and French press - and small adjustments make a real difference, so change one thing at a time and taste as you go.
