The Opus 2 is the all-rounder that grinds fine enough for espresso as well as filter. So if espresso is part of your routine, go Opus 2. If you’re devoted to brewed coffee and want the best possible filter cup, the Ode is purpose-built for exactly that.

Can the Ode Gen 2 grind for espresso?

It’s really designed for filter brewing rather than espresso. The Gen 2 Brew Burrs are optimised for the pour-over, drip and cold brew range. If you want a grinder that covers espresso too - or you’re pairing it with a machine like the Fellow Espresso Series 1 - the Opus 2 is the better fit.
