Starting Recipe

  • Dose: 20g for a double shot basket
  • Grind: Fine
  • Water Temp: 93°C

Step 1

Weigh out 20g of coffee and grind it to fine.

Step 2

Transfer coffee grounds into portafilter.

Step 3

Evenly distribute the coffee grounds using your hand or a distribution tool.

Step 4

Firmly and evenly tamp the coffee in the portafilter.

Step 5

Insert the portafilter into the espresso machine, placing cups and a scale underneath (if using).

Step 6

Run the shot until you reach the desired yield/weight. Enjoy!

Our Brewing Tips:
  • If the espresso tastes flat and bitter, try using a coarser grind.
  • Uneven distribution of coffee can lead to uneven extraction, impacting the flavor and taste. Mastering this step is crucial.
  • Ensure a clean coffee machine for a clean cup of espresso by periodically backflushing with powder, cleaning baskets, and purging hot water between coffees.
